What are the best and most stable settings in MSI‘s BIOS for ME?
Im not going to Overclock my System, just the DDR4. CPU could stay as default.

My System:

Mainboard MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon
CPU I7-9700K
M.2 SSD Samsung Evo 970 1TB (wanna run Windows 10 Pro on it, and Games)
2,5“ SSD Crucial MX500 500GB (for personal use photos videos documents etc.)
G.Skill DDR4 2x8GB, 3200, 14 14 14 34
BIOS Version E7B17IMS.100

want to run the G.Skills on 3200mhz, not on 2166mhz as system default, Anything important beside setting it up?

What mode do i need to run the M.2 and the 2,5“ without problems? AHCI or RAID?
I think i also have to enable M.2/Optane Genie... correct me if im wrong... lol

Else, is there any important setting i still have to edit or something?
What about the CPU, leave default settings, or can it be optimized for non-oc mode? I do not wanna overclock it with my knowledge...

Happy for help

You need to set your XMP, Extreme Memory Profile.

This will explain it for you.

Done it, thank you

there is a problem with my M.2 SSD aswell (wich is placed on the M_2 #2 Slot because this one has a Shield. The #1 M.2 Slot is empty... maybe it is important where i placed it)
I‘ve read on pcpartpicker.com, if i use the M.2 #2 Slot, two SATA 6gbits ports are going to be disabled.
So where do i place the cable of my 2,5“ SSD, and my bluray/dvd-drive cable, in wich sata slot on the mainboard?
Or doesnt it matter?

And what is RAID mode and for what kind of use? If i enable the option „M.2/Optane Genie" to „On", the system is going to proceed raid mode.
Some PC specialist in a video told, that AHCI mode would be the right chose.

In your motherboard manual, it will explain "which" two SATA ports are disabled. You should have plenty left to use.

Leave it set to AHCI mode.

It will work if the controller is set to RAID mode. You can have it in that mode without actually configuring a RAID array. You'd just leave the drives in JBOD mode (single drives on a RAID controller).

u dont need to worry about this.. your m.2 is a m.2 nvme drive and not a m.2 sata so your sata port will not be disabled

Sorry. I fell asleep without reading the whole post. At first I was like: why would you overclock RAM? Haha derp. XM profile.
Use ACHI and not RAID. RAID is a special memory format where it can take multiple drives and construct arrays of drives or even make two drives work as one. Fun and old technology.

If you want to overclock the CPU, MSI should have an overclock Genie for it.

If it's a lower end mobo, all m.2 may not support nvme and it could be running off Sata and causing the problem.

pretty sure a nvme m.2 drive will not work in a sata only m.2 slot..

and pretty sure if its a z390 board both m.2 slots supports nvme 3.0 x4 with one of the slots compatible with m.2 sata aswell

and only if u use a m.2 sata drive will 1 sata port be disabled - thats how it works on mine anyway

I didn't really read all the way thru the posts, I'll have to come back to this when I get on desktop.
