Looking for as a cheap price as possible as money is tight.

I can spend maximum of 100 euros (116 USD).

512 gb would be optimal but I understand if its out of my pricerange and I have to settle for 256 gb.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-GAMING 3

It has apparantly M.2 slots which is the best?

e: Maybe the 256 gb samsung 970 evo would work best. The 512gb is out of my price range and I would only install 4-5 steam games on it anyway + windows + some programs.
I can place rest of my files on my other internal harddrive

I wouldn't worry about the M2 SSD. The regular one will be plenty fast enough.

/e But it's up to you.

What about the reading/writing speed inbetween SSD's like 960 series and 970 series from samsung.

Does it matter alot?

Average user. So it would then benefit me to get the 512 gb, 960 evo rather than 256 gb 970?

Yeah, regular SSDs are [plenty fast enough. Samsung 860 EVO or the Crucial MX500 2.5 inch SSDs are plenty fast enough.

/e But this one is a LOT faster.. https://be.pcpartpicker.com/product/dkHRsY/samsung-970-evo-250gb-m2-2280-solid-state-drive-mz-v7e250bw

Thanks. In that case I'll go with the crucial mx500, found it for exactly 100 euros and delivery tomorrow.
