So apparently steam has released it's own version of WINE for gaming on Linux, has anyone used this or know how well it's working compared to regular WINE? (not that well)

Wow that's cool! About damn time they do something for the gamers that doesn't involve conning then out of their money.

I don't have a problem with buying windows, I have a problem with using it. I don't like automatic updates, I don't like all the bloated bs that you can't disable (ie cortana), and it's just all around slower than Linux in my experience.

I know what you mean.. got my pc with a fresh copy of windows 10 & even at idle it was still doing a bunch of stuff. Turned everything off that I could & while configuring it all, I got a popup from windows defender saying I had a virus & had to purchase a premium version to get rid of it.. lol

Was going to try it out and keep it along side of my arch install but ended up just making the whole drive ext4 :/

Might get a copy of windows & run in a vm though :)

For anyone curious about more info, I found out about it watching last Friday's WAN show. Scroll down to the "Stream Compatibility Tool" section.
