i had bad times with my acer nitro black edition (which is quite a little older) with a 960m and gen 6 i7 core.
it is stuttering from time to time like random freezes fpr 1-2 seconds. sent it in and got it back the same way. using an asus rog atm and keeping the nitro as backup in case i ever lose the other one.
how many years have you had it? I mean if this thing can last me like my hp has 7 years and im typing on it right now then I will be more then happy of course this hp is slow as fuck now but it once was a decent machine lol
I almost bought an rog tonight

I don't have a problem with open box as a lot of them are people just buying and deciding they didn't want it sometimes you get the broken pos that is a nightmare though.

If you're just into esports titles, that will do just fine.
I guess I would be considered more of an esport dude Siege is my main game and a bit of cod. sprinkle in some single player im more so asking for the brands sake and if anyone has owned it i've heard some positive and a lot of negative about Acer computers

A lot depends on who makes the laptop you listed the specs for. Also a lot depends on what games/programs you intend to run on it.
its an Acer nitro 5
need to run a few coding programs, want to get into a bit of video editing, and some gaming I know this thing can handle that stuff uncertain if its going to be dead in a year from usage. my hp doesn't get turned off literally ever thing runs 24/7 and this has been for like 5 years i use it as my tv as well as a pc
owned it for 7
