using windows 10

this happens with older games and occasionally just anything that cannot be set to borderless fullscreen

the application will crash but force itself to be the application that has frontal priority thus forcing me to restart to gain access back to my pc

is there some sort of setting i could mess with so that this wouldnt happen? or is a 2nd monitor the best bet

it gets priority locked after crashing, alt f4 does nothing and i cannot bring up task manager cuz it locks priority on itself

i used to use a 2nd monitor setting for it but if there is an easier way to fix it i really dunno what to even google

How old is computer? Windows 10 should be able to recover from a program crash and still let you work outside of that program just fine.

You're asking why a program crashes but won't let you leave the window... Hence I'm wondering if it's not hard drive/ram related; something is/gets corrupted.
