hey guys,

my mates school stopped using chalkboards so all they have now are those whiteboards and beamers.

he wants a tablet he can hook up to the hdmi and a pencil that can write on the tablet so the tablet transforms it into text of arial or times or whatever.

what would he need there? is a tablet enough or a touch laptop? i have absolutely no idea about that stuff!

I think the beamer is just a projector. The setup is called a smartboard, essentially a touch canvas where the picture is displayed via ceiling mounted projector and connected to a desktop host. In other words, it's a giant touch screen monitor.

He should be able to change the input from the host pc to his tablet on the projector.

Found another company called: XP - PEN.
Gotta love Amazon's "Sponsored products related to this item" links.

As long as his tablet has some sort of A/V output, it should be able to plug in and just use the board as a monitor. Not sure about software compatibility to use the touch feature backwards tho (touching canvas and having it work on tablet).
