My motherboard was fried so i bought a cheap one. Dell Optiplex 990 SFF motherboard LGA 1155/socket H2 system board D6h9t.

When I try to connect the fan_cpu or the fan_sys they both have a 5 pin connector on the motherboard but the cord im trying to attach to the 5 pin connector on the motherboard is 3 pin with 2 notches and won't fit.

Do you know of a better idea?

Ya i saw that but this is a 3 pin connector

Doesn't matter, they are backwards compatible, physically it will fit just fine.
The fourth pin you won't be using, is to control the fan speed/voltage delivery to the fan aka PWM control. So a 3pin fan is only made for 1 RPM speed mode.
