hello guys,

new school year (and first in my life as a teacher) starting soon and i need a notebook.

my needs in a quick overlook:

must fit in a normal bag from dakine (i guess thats like 15,4" max?)
must be light but sturdy
needs to have a cd/dvd slot so i can play music and videos
should be able to use powerpoint and similar programs for at least 5 years without problems
needs hdmi and possibly vga so i can use beamers in class
possibly within a range of 500-800 bucks

I would go dell i5 with 8gb ram and SSD
Then just get an adapter that converts to whatever you need.

Yeah, it has a CD/DVD reader/burner built in.

Yeah, and if your credit is good, you can even pay monthly if desired.
Generally, for tough workstation-like laptops....DELL is the answer.
