Okie dokie
so today i got in my hands a HP Pavilion g7-1110sv with a broken screen, it was given to me to scrap whatever i need or do whatever i like with it.
I'm familliar with laptop dissasembly so i took off the front plastic of the screen and checked out the lcd model
found out that can't find it cheaper than 80(90+ eur with shipping), which is a lot i guess.
In case u are interested the panel is the lp173wd1 c3 panel.
So if i find another panel witch uses the same pin lvds cable, and the same voltage even if its bigger res(since the laptop is actual capable to run 1080p on external monitor) it would work right?
if not i guess it will be a nice htpc under tv :)

Unless the laptop manufacturer offers two screen sizes for the same model, its not a good idea. If the screen in a laptop is broken its best to just pull everything in it for parts. Screen repair is only worthwhile if the cost is <25% of laptop value.
