sorry for the huge picture

Friend wanna play some PUBG mostly for now and hes looking to get a GPU for his computer. This is his specs

Im guessing since he has DDR 4 it wont be compatible as its DDR5 on the 1050 ?

Would it be even possible to add a GPU on his mobo?

Thanks

No the ddr4 is ram, totally unrelated to the graphics card

You want to check and see if it had a pci-e slot and enough room to fit the 1050 inside the case

I think it should be okay
PCI-E slot is there and I just googled that hp model and the case is big enough to put in the 1050

You should be more worried about the power supply your buddy has. A prebuilt without a gpu usually means even worse quality psu. Adding gpu (more power) can fk it up

Some GTX 1050 Ti require a power supply hookup.

This one, for example, requires a 6 pin cable from the power supply. Just make sure which card you're getting and what power supply requirements (if any) it may have.

/e Most of the GTX 1050 Ti do not require any cable from the power supply, but I would check to be sure.
You can always look up w/e card you are thinking about, on Newegg.com. In their pics section for each card, if it does require a power supply cable, it will be shown in one of the pics.
