my experience with them is that the frills don't last forever the covering on the foam that rests on my head is basically gone but the sound quality is great

cant those be replaced?

donno but it doesnt really change the function, still comfortable and i still use it

Haven't heard the HD1 but I think they are based on Momentums, Momentum 2.0 are one of best wireless headphones you can buy.
