ok so im looking to upgrade to a new headset / amp but im by far experienced when it comes to this stuff so far im looking at

but when it comes to amp / dac and headphones i have no clue any help would be appreciated

i would be using this to play fps games just want be able to hear everything going on around me etc just a big gamer lol


so if you have any suggestions please let me know im open to anything just giving rough idea of what i was looking at

Said AKG and Beyerdynamic are both solid choices. Imo Sennheiser HD600 has more accurate positional sound tho. Sennheiser HD598 is also solid choice if you want to save some money or Masssrop HD6XX if you can wait for them to be dropped again.

For dac/amp some seem to prefer x7 for the software it comes with but I personally would get this https://www.jdslabs.com/mobile/products/48/objective2-odac-combo-revb/ and you can get some 3rd party software if you like but I dont think it is necessary.

Also have o2 combo had others too but im for gaming immersion and x7 is great for it
Sbx surround is nice pretty much gave up on everything else
Nothing compares to it for me but i haven't tried sennhiesers new binaural engine or had much experience with dts or dolbys newer stuff either

i found the 598 better than the 6xx for positional gaming, otherwise 6xx is better in general for everything else imo
Went over to my buddys place to try out his 6xx from massdrop with magni3/modi2 schiit stax. I wasn't impressed for csgo/pubg, couldn't really pinpoint the accurate distance of sounds i hear compared to my 598/sbz.
I recently purchased x7, just gotta pick it up on Monday or Tuesday at post office when i got time and i can give you a better opinion of it.
I think ad700 headphones were the gg for fps gaming, but shitty for everything else

I'm a bit surprised JohnMiller92 hasn't voiced his opinion in this matter yet.
