How soon do you think quantum computers will become mainstream?

I think within the next 10-20 years we may start seeing stuff hit the market.

There's quantum computers now but the amount of cooling required and isolation they need from external interference (noise, heat, etc) don't make them practical.

I think they're the future, and would render most existing binary computers obsolete once they become mainstream since they'd provide exponential levels of performance over what we have now

look here at this

prolly will never go mainstream or available to consumers at all until biometric security is everywhere

is that an excuse? They could have called it whatever they want. The name of AMD's cpu interconnect technology is "INFINITY fabric" xddddd
newest arch is ryzen, wow amd sure has "ryzen" top kek, what an "epyc" comeback
i want to kms

He's right. It is the name of the technology and it is apt.

noun
plural noun: quantum computers

a computer that makes use of the quantum states of subatomic particles to store information.

Classical computers encode information in bits. Each bit can take the value of 1 or 0. These 1s and 0s act as on/off switches that ultimately drive computer functions. Quantum computers, on the other hand, are based on qubits, which operate according to two key principles of quantum physics: superposition and entanglement. Superposition means that each qubit can represent both a 1 and a 0 at the same time. Entanglement means that qubits in a superposition can be correlated with each other; that is, the state of one (whether it is a 1 or a 0) can depend on the state of another. Using these two principles, qubits can act as more sophisticated switches, enabling quantum computers to function in ways that allow them to solve difficult problems that are intractable using today’s computers.

Just saying, we don't call classic computers 'voltage' or even more cringe 'pulse' computers just because of what leads to a 1 or 0 being interpreted.
They could have gone down any road they wanted in the naming process
