My dad wants to switch to a wireless Sonos setup. The reason is his current speakers take up too much space. It's a trade-off of quality vs. space & speaker position.

Wondering what you think the resale value is on these:

Kef Q700 tower speakers x2
Kef Q600C center speaker x1
Kef Q100 bookshelf speakers x2
Kef Q400 subwoofer x1
Kef Q300 bookshelf speakers x2

He's considering keeping the Q300's or the Q700's, and possibly the sub. Not sure how hard selling without the towers/sub would be.

Also, anyone know how to hook up a subwoofer to a setup like this:

• DacMagic Plus converter
• Marantz PM-6004 amp

I specifically want to use RCA subwoofer out. The line-in for left/right speaker connection isn't grounded or something & makes a lot of noise when the amp is off.

With that amp line-in is pretty much only way to connect your sub, just make sure your cables don't run on power cables and you should be fine. You could also add separate dac between source and amp to split signal but is it worth it?

For used speakers the price is generally roughly 40-60% of retail price depending on age and condition of speakers. If they are new and in like new condition it is possible to get even 70-80% if you can find a buyer. And as they are KEF they shouldnt be so hard to sell separately.

If he keeps the Q300s, he can get a Sonos Connect:Amp to power those as surround speakers in a Playbar/Sub config for a 5.1 setup.

I talked him into the Sonos amp a couple days back. He kept the towers for music, but got sonos speakers for the home theatre setup to save on space and ease of use.

Trying to sell other ones still tho.
