Looks good. Can get for about $470 Canadian.

VA panel. LED. 1440p. 75Hz.

Thinking about getting it as a single monitor for leisure, and waiting on 2x 1080p 25" for a separate work setup.

Returning those other ones. They suck.

If anyone has input on the screen I’m possibly looking at it after work today.

Just made the return on the two ugly 32” screens during lunch hour. Decided to think on getting the Omen, since I already have a 27” screen for games and relaxing.

The 32” would be for gaming
2x 24” would be for work

Picked 'er up today. Just one screen.

32" HP Omen. VA panel. IPS. 2560x1440. 75Hz.

First impressions:

1) Way better than the previous Asus screens. Those were a real joke. Who calls a screen IPS and LED when even a single screen has no good viewing angle (even from head on)??
2) The colors, viewing angle, and dynamic range are all very good on this monitor.
3) No visible backlight bleed at all. When screen is at 100% brightness, no abnormalities. When screen is 95% brightness, just the bottom left gets a tiny bit darker by an imperceptible amount when the whole screen is white. Pretty good performance.
4) Refresh rate is clearly better, even at 60Hz, to my previous monitor. At 75Hz this is great.
5) Does not hurt my eyes like the previous monitor did. Not a 100% perfect screen, you can tell it's not an IPS since viewing angles aren't crazy good, but they're very good.
6) No dead pixels on first 15 minutes of use & inspection.
7) Looks great, happy with it.

Got it for $428 Canadian, plus taxes.

Finally done calibrating the screen. Been enjoying it and calibrating as I go. Took a while.

Don't know why this screen (and the Asus ones) don't come with built-in gamma control. AMD control panel doesn't have that either. Have to do it through my OS.

AMD freesync and 75Hz is kind of a nice bonus. Happy with the value.

Will do.

This thing will double as a TV when my gf and I get a place. Not the main TV but a good backup :).

It does have some shimmer to the viewing angles on dark greys, but that’s about it. Really a crazy value screen. Refresh rate and response time is bang on. The menu is great (except for no gamma control). Everything including the stand and buttons are A+ class premium. It has every port you could want built in. The only criticism is it could have slightly better viewing angle reproduction of greys, that’s a small criticism — literally cant find another thing to gripe about (I guess out of the box gamma and colour needed playing with). Brightness is so good I had to keep it at 90, not 100.

Is it VA or IPS? Can't be both.
