Looking for a chromebook for use with the following activities...

skype / video chat
facebook
surfing web
word processor (doesnt need to be microsoft word..)

wants/needs
built in web cam / mic / speakers
ideally 14"+ screen
2 usbs

budget - preferably under $300 but is flexable

Thoughts / recommendations?

both should do what you need them to do.

my wife broke her laptop recently (2nd one in 2 years). She needed one to just watch youtube/twitch on and to skype/chat on when not at her pc. I wasn't going to sink a ton of money into another laptop for her to just drop the thing.

Be aware out of the box chrome won't load most websites and give you a safety error. Make sure you update the browser with newest update so that you can access sites like youtube and twitch.

I've had my toshiba Chromebook for around 4 years.
It's been on pretty much 24/7 for at least 2 years.

Still works like a charm

If it's only between those two hands down you want the Acer. It's a 1080p screen vs the hp with essentially a 720 screen. You will deeply regret buying a 720p resolution in 2018.

Acer has SSD so it is a plus factor.
