What my friend could use to upgrade his RAM to 16GB?

He using this motherboard:
MSi 970 -
It say DDR3 but im not so sure about the frequency and etc
he looking to pay 180$ Canadian (ship to canada ofc)

Patriot 8GB 240-Pin DDR3
he'd like to either be able to still use this one and have 24GB or 2 brand new for 16GB atleast

Just order another stick of what he currently has.

Or get a 2x8gb kit. Dont mix & match random ram, It can cause issues.

this, though get another of his tbh cause cheaper.

I will make him post his speccy when he get back because he just said it was 2x4GB and not a single 8GB :angry:

why the board has 4 dimm slots?
buy w/e kit he has like stated.
