recently bought new RAM expecting it to fix the problem ..and it's back.

It's VERY random and I have tried countless benchmark programs to monitor stuff and watched temps and everything and i see NOTHING abnormal about any of my hardware.

No event id error pops up... NO BsoD pops up... and like i said the hard freeze is extremely random and it could happen with few minutes after first reboot ...

I feel like I have tried everything and I wished I knew what the hell was going on but nothing seems to show anything for a red flag....

Could a PSU just go bad after like 4 years or so and if so could that cause the hard freeze?


Side note : When it freezes NOTHING works unless i do a hard reboot ... i even checked to see if my caps lock led key would flash on but nothing is on but my fans in the PC.

any help is greatly appreciated.


tl;dr : I have tried everything (that i can think of) BUT a fresh installation of windows 10 [ i'm not sure i can get windows 10 anymore for free? ] I currently have 10 but if i were to do a fresh installation i would have my old windows 7 .. i think?

HD problem?

I had a similar issue in windows 10 with my SSD using 100% out of no where, and everything on that HD would freeze. Went back to windows 7 no problems

Now that you mention it I replaced my RAM + HDD [HDD due to the 100% usage under task manager] ... and im still getting the same old problem.




e/ its just so damn random and quite annoying to pinpoint what the problem could be..do you know if a psu going bad could cause a hard freeze ?

I would be surprised if it's the PSU, all honest I blame windows 10

There are many fixes for the 100% disk usage all over google.

well im no longer getting 100% disk usage.. i replaced my HDD and it doesnt seem to be a problem for me anymore UNLESS its popping up during times i do not see my task manager usage bar..

Tried them didn't work



If replacing the HDD worked then it could of been the HDD dieing.

Ya the only reason I wanted windows 10 was for multi desktop. But it's not worth all the trouble, so I'm happy back on my windows 6 ultimate 64bit

I know for a fact all of this started to go to shit after the fall update.
my PC has been doing the same shit since then and now i dont know what to do. i assume reset pc fresh installation for windows 7 ?
