hi :)

i posted a topic in the computer building forum aswel about buying a new laptop/desktop.

i got a few advices from Ghot with costum builds, all good with partpicker etc... but wasnt really an answer to my total question.

i'm planning on playing some (older) games, and maybe later some newer but we'll see.. like Starcraft 2 / total war franchise / elder scrolls ....

i only got a combo from Ghot (without monitor/keyboard etc...) for 2000$ +
so i'm thinking .. is this just cuz i asked if 4k was possible or not...

if u need to play 2K+ to get any kind of 4K gaming ... i'm questioning if its worth it .
my brain cant understand that i need a 2000$ ++ desktop (all included) to play starcraft 2 (released 2010 ...) in the year 2018... and even total war/elder scrolls... they are not the most recent games so ..

can i get a "cheap" setup with full HD monitor that can easily run one of these games in highest resolution with 60 FPS while listening to Itunes/youtube meanwhile while not using 50% of the maximum capacity of the desktop?

thanks for advice :)

you do not need a 2000 desktop to play sc2 nor elder scrolls/older total war games at 4k lol
honestly my $600 build from 2 yrs ago could handle sc2 @ 4k and elder scrolls too not sure about total war depends which one

4k itself isn't demanding, it's what you're trying to do at 4k that can get demanding. The most modern AAA graphically intensive games at high framerates gets really expensive.

Like, a celeron with an igpu can handle smooth 4k video playback in ideal conditions.

It's worth what you're willing to pay

I'll post a build in your thread but 2k for everything including peripherals is tight for a 4k build
