Here's the story. It all began Christmas day when I tried connecting my laptop to my tv via HDMI. The laptop did not recognize the TV so I thought it's probably the HDMI cord. Tried a different one, and another just to be sure. They work with my amazon FireTV but not my laptop.... okay cool. So i take my laptop to my gf's house and connect it to her TV... Same issue. So i uninstall and reinstall the graphics drivers and TA-DA! It works. Awesome... come home and try it. Nothing.... still doesn't work. So I look up the drivers from intel's website (Intel HD Graphics 3000) and it says they stop supporting it last year. So maybe it was a Windows 10 issue. IDK. After 2 1/2 days of troubleshooting this. I've reinstalled Windows 7, updated all drivers, disconnected all soundbars/amazon tv's just in case. I'm at a stand still and have no idea why my laptop will not let me connect to my Vizio e48u-d0. ALSO I've connected it to my element tv and it doesnt work either.

Current situation:

WIN7
Updated Drivers

I connect my hdmi from my tv to my laptop. Nothing happens. I turn my TV off and my computer picks it up then 2 seconds later unrecognizes it. Whenver i turn my TV on it also does the same thing. I've tried windows P, i've tried connecting to a projector (same thing) i've even used the FN key for secondary monitors.

If anyone knows or even speculates what to do it would be awesome and of course the right answer will be paid accordingly.

never heard of such an issue, tv's have always behaved exactly like monitors for me, even the oldest, cheapest shittiest sub-1080p off-brand ones.

I want to say the issue is system related. Unless TV technology has actually gone backwards.

Sounds like a bad HDMI connector on the TV.

Well you could take your laptop to a friend's house and test it there. If it works...then your TV is the problem.
If it doesn't, then the laptop is the problem.

Fixed it.

Whenever I went to rollback my driver's it was greyed out. So what I had to do was go to intel's website and get the older drivers. HALLELUJAH!!!!
