Looking to get a new monitor but can't make up my mind on what I'd like. These are the configs I'm confident my system can run.
Games I play most are Diablo 3, Overwatch, CoD WW2, Minecraft, League, PUBG.

Well seeing as you aren't a hardcore first person shooter, I'd say 1440p. It looks so pretty and gorgeous. I have a 1440p IPS 27" that I use for everyday use. I play all my games and do all my work on it. Works great and looks great.

The 1080p 144Hz monitor will run fast but look like shit even maxed out. It'll be faded by comparison to an IPS and not as vivid in details and color. You would most likely enjoy first person games more but everything won't be as visually pleasing.

Blizzard games work great at 1440p. You'll enjoy Diablo 3.

edit: I vote 21:9.

You could always try getting one 144hz monitor and one 4k monitor, and then try them both out and see which you prefer, and return the other one (make sure to check their return policy beforehand).

I'd personally avoid the 1440p as you'll probably want to upgrade to 4k either way within a few years.

Can anyone recommend what to look for in TN panels that makes them better than others? Any specific recommendations around or under the $ 250 USD range?
