I really never saw an use for a tablet for me, other than browsing the web/reading news on the boat and on airplanes to play movies when there is no entertainment system.

That being said, I don't want to spend $350 with tax on a piece of shit. Is this mid-range or so?

I don't want apple cuz I want load to my own movies on it.

Just going to let you know can put your movies on an apple device provided its in the right format for the device.
If you have no use for it why spend 400$? buy a netbook.

Thanks... I ended up buying a Tab S2 from Costco.ca ... which was $541 after taxes...then returned it as my dad found it on Costco.com for $279... $375 after exchange. I'll be using it extensively in the summer time after our sails on the boat (there every weekend) ... just likely not as much in the winter times.

Great deal, $200 off ... would recommend anyone check there. Amazon.com and Samsung.com are offering them for $299, also $200 off their original pricing.
