im in a decent sized house where theres someone living in the basement & top floors (2 story)
im looking for a decent router that will provide signal from the main floor to everywhere throughout the house.

Define "decent sized house". As in, how many square meters of finished space? I generally recommend one transmitter per every 150 square meters.
Starting off with the single-node Google WiFi might be a place to start, as you can add nodes as needed to grow the network.
