So I got a WiFi card for my desktop since my router isn’t nearby. However, when I’m gaming (diablo 3) I will lag really bad if I’m watching YouTube videos. It didn’t happen when I was directly plugged in, I have full bars of signal and speed test says 20mbps download. My ping in game will shoot up to like 1000 when I watch videos and it’s 65 normal. Any idea what’s happening?

I mean 20 mbps isn't that much these days. If you are watching full hd youtube vids, that could be using most of the bandwidth. Also make sure you don't have any other background downloads going (windows updates, etc)
Depending on what router you have, you may also be able to set prioritization (I have it set on mine)l, where it will automatically make sure the devices and/or applications you want get the maximum bandwidth they need.

Thats called CoS which is a sub set of QoS.
which means this was a long winded way to repeat me.

Why would it work fine plugged in and not over WiFi? The speeds didn’t change at all...

Shitty router signal or shitty wifi adapter. What router and wifi adapter do you have?
