HD - Desktop Mainstream 1TB 7,200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive WDBH2D0010HNC-NRSN
PSU - Builder Series CX430 430 Watt ATX 12V Power Supply

using speccy to monitor my pc under load, ive seen cpu up to 55 C and gfx up to 77 C

so how hot is too hot?

i think the cpu is fine, im more worried about the graphics card...

In Speccy 62C is max. CPU temp

For gfx cards, use MSI Afterburner (free) to set a fan curve for your vid card.

I would try to keep vid card at 75C or under at 100% load.

Depends!

Too hot is technically when your component breaks and isn't working.
From a more practical perspective, too hot is when your PC shuts down.
From a technical practical perspective, too hot is when your parts throttle performance under load.

So, those temps are fine. Your CPU will start to throttle around mid to high 60's on the right/wrong mobo. Use the stock cooler if you want to see this happen :P
Vid card is pretty good up to about 90, but as Ghot said you can increase the fan curve to keep it cooler if you want, though you will not see any practical benefit.
On a 270, I really would not be concerned, it should never get too hot to hurt itself. :)

If your temps concern you, this is probably where I'd start.

Thanks for the input guys!

I did dl Msi afterburner.

Also forgot to mention that I have an aftermarket CPU cooler. Don't remember which it was like flow master or cool master. I remember it was like 5x larger than the stock.
