Would like to buy a 1tb ssd

Samsung 850 evo 1tb 280usd
Or
Samsung 850 pro 1tb 365usd
Or
Samsung 960 evo 1tb 447usd
Or
Samsung 960 pro 1tb 628usd

Is it worth spending extra for a better ssd, for a pure gaming purpose

Also is there any other brands on sale right now? These are Amazon prices

Get the 850 EVO 1TB.

The 850 Pro can take more writes than the EVO.

The 960's are way faster, but not needed for gaming. More for workstation uses.

/e The 850 EVO is the best bang for the buck.

even bargain brand ssd's have significantly higher TBW than most consumers will exhaust even if they used it for 20 years, especially for 'gaming purpose'
850 evo has higher write endurance than almost all of those...
850 pro would be a waste of money, higher tbw won't come in to play at all so all you're paying for is the extra long warranty, and it is no faster than the evo.

the recommended for row is a laugh and a half

but evo is only useful for SumatraPDF i guess? I wonder why they would downplay their highest value product in favor of the more superfluous and expensive ones, IT IS A MYSTERY!

depends on if you want to wait 10 seconds for various games to load levels or 5 seconds lol.
if you can't wait and can afford the 960 jump on it.

Do better speeds in a ssd help with alt tabing and running multiple games at once? Or that's more CPU speed
