Mostly for gaming, but also for general web browsing/movies.
My eye strains fairly easy, so is there any types of monitors better for eye strain?
Was going to get this, but read that it might cause eye strain due to flickering?

I recommend a monitor.
Google a blue light filter like F.Lux. I've been using them for years and I love it. That should significantly cut down on your eye strain.

Do you use it while gaming also?
I have flux, but it makes the screen look so weird.

That monitor has a glare screen, so I'd beware of any natural light behind you. I have these:

and

The MG248Q is awesome for gaming with an anti-glare screen and 144hz refresh. The VG245H is also great. I use it as a secondary monitor, but I did use it as a main for about a week. It's a 75hz refresh rate, but it does the job if you want to save some bucks.
