ok so I was at walmart and was looking for these,
https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/mental-beats-heat-2-in-1-bluetooth-headphone-black/6000196689360
they didnt have them at that walmart and said not anywhere else either, so I got these
https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/sony-extra-bass-over-ear-headphones-with-microphone-black/6000192663889
but now it's literally the next day and I see I can order the ones I originally wanted cause their in stock again.. the next damn day. so as I bought the other ones the dude said I could bring them back, so is their anyone that could tell which pair may be better?
the bass is pretty descent on these but I've always been using on ear headphones and even though my ears are pretty used to them they do hurt a bit over long periods and i've been contemplating over-ear ones for a while.
which would you figure are better? is the bass descent on the ones I wanted?

You aren't getting good bass in a headphone that cheap.
Neat site put together by the people in the headphones subforum of reddit:

I recommend before u spend $ on a pair of headphones, make sure your realize that a $500 sound-card is utmost important! Oh, and make sure you get the $1100 pair of headphones to go along with it, for maximum sound quality. It's a night and day performance difference in the highs and lows of sound frequencies. It's definitely worth it! Good luck
