i painted the office-room and used a pretty old ladder. because i am a total mess my cables run free which is better for their health i guess as greenpeace actually suggests it.

clunky as i am i stepped on the cable with my ladder which divided the cable into 2 cables.

it was a hassle getting that cable to where it is, as it comes from 2 stories above me and is around 50m long. replacing it would be super lame for me. would take somewhere between 1 hour if lucky and an eternity if bad luck.

can i somehow cut the cable in a clean line and put it together? like i will be soldering green and green, red and red, etc? can this work?

please safe my cable. its only 5 years old and didnt even have its first virus transmitted over it yet.

Should be able to just reconnect, or get something like this

https://m.newegg.com/products/9SIABU95S26466?ignorebbr=true&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleMKP-Mobile&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleMKP-Mobile-_-pla-_-Cables%20-%20Network%20Ethernet%20Cables-_-9SIABU95S26466&gclid=Cj0KCQiA84rQBRDCARIsAPO8RFwfymNUjqoBPqkbmPl5O5XV03whhBcHCStM4IKsmyid_i_SyNBSLDwaAlv6EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

If you want it to look nice and still be protected just snap on connectors to each end. I would just reconnect & tape it up though but if you need to add a cable in the future the splitter would be nice :)

This one is just as good as the heavy duty one. It just uses a built in method of "punching down" so you don't have to buy the punch tool. :)
