i believe this is pure android TV so i can install kodi. I don't want the TCL because the ROKU OS is shit

looks good to me personally. i recommend checking if it has any bclk overclocking abilities as well, just to squeeze out hat extra bit of performance

check slickdeals tv section for tv deals. and rtings for their reviews and what specific tv models are good for, depending on your viewing conditions.

$900 for a 55inch 4k tv seems a bit expensive.

really want pure android TV though which is why I can't get samsung or most other models

so that limits your choices. and id consider a 2016 model tv to possibly save some money. not really too big a difference on certain 2016 to 2017 models. at least one of them is a bit worse than its 2016 model.
