I have an asus g60j
It had always been 100% , never any issues

Tonight i restarted it , once it came back on , i logged in fine.
Once at desktop it completely froze . the cursor would move , but took forever for any of the processes to start ..

Any ideas ? Hard drive faulty?

How old is the laptop and could you supply a Speccy screenshot.

Get SPECCY here: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download
...get the FREE version from the: Piriform Link
...Speccy is a really nice system hardware/temperature, information Utility.
...simply install it...and run the program...then post a screen shot of the main page of the program, when posting a problem/question on these forums.

something must have changed, did it update bios or idk? Try setting power options - cpu usage to 100->100% and set nvidiacpl on manual settings - prefer maximum performance
Download throttlestop and run it, try to check speedstep, bd prochot, disable turbo
