there's 4 threads with a start address of ucrtbase.dll!o__CIpow+0x10 in firefox.exe that can be suspended to stop it without affecting anything else
ull know them when u see them, each is using 12-13% cpu
but new ones start when you go to a different page

im gonna keep tinkering til i figure out a way to stop this site from stealing from me without disabling js entirely

I've had chrome warn me about some shady website that was trying to use my cpu for mining lol

Not like an old pentium 4400 can do much tho

this is likely going to spread like wildfire
trying to figure out how to stop it on a low level rather than spend forever jumping through hoops as they forever move the goal post that is which script to block
suspending the threads being used to mine in the process works on a page-by-page basis but it's impractical

I'm using Firefox 52.4.0esr (32 bit), I get none of the things you're talking about.

if you have javascript disabled nothing will happen of course

but do you see this?

Chrome has an extension called No Coin made exactly for stopping background mining.

I also run the NoScript plugin. Unfortunately I don't thin k it works with the non- ESR versions of FF anymore.


/e I never allowed that sites scripts...so maybe that's the reason.
