So, basically looking for something in the "just right" category
My criteria:
Long battery life
Had to have at least a 1050
Lightweight (Under 4lb)
Thin (<.85")
Latest gen i7
Researched (a lot) pitting various laptops against eachother, I looked at the Aero, the MSI Phantom, Razer Blade, as well as a couple others
Basically narrowed it down to the Gigabyte or the MSI, as several other options were priced significantly higher for very similar specs
Finally decided on this one, it offered the best of what I was looking for without breaking the bank (and I saved $100 buying open box on newegg, bonus, it wasn't open, just a return)
i7-7700HQ 3.8ghz turbo
Geforce GTX 1060 + HD630
14" QHD IPS panel 2560x1440
512gb M.2 SSD
16gb Ram (2400mhz DDR4)
10gbps USB Type C, Mini Display port, 3x USB 3.0, HDMI out (full size) , headphone jack, SD reader, etc
94wh battery
Windows 10
Black chassis with orange accent
Ends up being just over 4lb with battery, but I felt it was a good trade off with that 94wh
.78" thick
25 programmable macro keys (oddly placed on the left, if I am honest not my favorite feature due to that, I think they could have made the keyboard a little more intuitive by putting macros at the top or eliminating entirely)
The screen is bright and looks great
has an offline battery monitor, mostly useless but kinda cool
Fit and finish is nice other than the finish on the lid is a fingerprint magnet, I have some vinyl skin material I will be trying to cut to fit
power adapter isn't ridiculously huge, even though its 150w, it also has a USB charge port
Webcam, speakers, and microphone all seem to work well
Dual fan intakes from the bottom and exhausts behind the keyboard/in front of monitor
Overall very happy with it, and Gigabyte puts a 2-year warranty on it which is awesome
