What are some pretty decent low price receivers? I have a 7.1 speaker set but I've been told I need a receiver for them. Bought my cable and everything but I need a receiver to send them to.

HDMI is required for the receiver, not sure what else I may need. XD

What kind of source equipment would you be connecting to the receiver (cable boxes, Blu-ray players, game consoles, etc)?

Err, I am not sure. I believe they are yamaha, pretty decent speakers I bought a few years ago and never used them. I bought them used so hopefully they even work. haha

No idea what you're asking but my budget.. lol

Budget is as low as I can go, I am not spending serious money until my basement is remodeled which will be in about 3-4 years. So probably under 100 bucks, ideally around 40 or 50 rofl

You're not going to find anything new that will do HDMI switching and 7.1 channels for under $100.

Here's a list of $100-$200 receivers on Amazon (probably only going to get 5.1 at that price range): https://www.amazon.com/AV-Receivers-Amplifiers-100-200/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=n%3A3213035011%2Cp_36%3A1253506011

you can look for a used one. although receivers seem to have a reputation of dying over time, so its risky to buy used. although around me i have seen several old receivers go for around 20 to 40 bucks so may be cheap enough to take a gamble.

Yamaha RX-V665 Receiver 630 watt 7.2 Channel

I have someone willing to sell this for $120. Not sure if I am going to get it or just put this "want" on hold for a few more months.

Not bad
Test every channel if you do buy power down before unplugging speaker. Before going to next channel
And push it alittle on volume to make sure it doesn't cut out
Or save up more

Didn't get it. :\

Thinking I can do 5.1 and not worry about doing 7.1 due to the price difference then in a couple years do 7.1.

So I'll be looking at whatever I can get.
