XFX and EVGA use to offer lifetime warranties but I guess as the years went by and the video cards got "thicker" they reduced it to 3 year warranty. If I'm going to fork out $700-$1000 for a card, which companies offer lifetime warrantys for their cards?

3 year warranty is probably longer than lifetime considering how fast products real EOL status nowadays

EVGA does not, anymore.
At least not on their consumer cards.

Limited lifetime ends when they cannot produce anymore of that specific model meaning it could end in a 1-3 years just like the other models. No real reason to get it.

All the EVGA cards on PCpartpicker have the suffixes for the 1, 2 or 3 year warranties, only.

which means you typically get a free upgrade
i have a 10 year warranty on my 1080ti, if it "breaks" 3-4 years down the road when they aren't making any more or have no more in stock i just get an 1180, 1280 etc.. lol

and isn't it usually the closest performing current card that you get as a replacement? so for a 1080 ti you might only get a 1180/1270/1360 for example
cause that's how it worked when my buddy cashed in the warranty on his Kepler cards, for 2x 760's he got a single 970 (which was an upgrade imo)
but warranty doesn't mean free upgrade later down the line
