With talk about prices increasing for the 10xx series cards I need some advice

I have an EVGA 1070 FTW already.

Do I pick up another 1070, pick up a cheap 1080 and sell my 1070, or sit on my 1070 until something better comes around. e/ or insert better idea

I plan on picking up VR and some of the new PC titles coming out in the next few months so just dont wanna wait to long to pull a trigger.

Two 1070's will destroy a 1080. Two 1070's are about equal, to a 1080 Ti.

The 1080 Ti ofc, being less expensive to run.

Do you even need a 1080 or higher?
whats resolution and target FPS, what are you planning to play?

IF your not using 2k or aiming for a constant 144fps @1080 I wouldn't bother.
Either is a bad idea for 4k as its not going to be enough for a constant 60 fpson most titles.

Most in the coming year or two I think I am aiming for is 120+ fps on major titles at 1440p 144 hz, as well as VR gaming.

Might wanna wait for Volta then...

A single 1080ti will have issues with a steady 120 hz which also applies to the SLI 1070's.
May have to turn down shadows or the odd setting for half the titles to achieve your fps target.
