I had an old x51 alienware computer awhile ago but since updated most of its components except for the processor and the motherboard so im still running the alienware bios.

I just realized the bios hasnt been updated in awhile cause im on the version A06 and i need to update to A07 and then upgrade to A12 then A14.

but before i upgrade to the newst versions i of course have to upgrade in order from where i am to the newest since it doesnt let you skip to the newest one.

basically when i go to run the exe of the a07 file i get the error "Please start the application again"

I tried to put it on a usb and boot from the usb in my bios but that didnt work either, maybe its not a bootable usb? im not sure

i cant find anywhere online about the please start the application again error

please help :(

Have you tried running the executable as administrator? Sometimes this is required for EFI overrides needed to update a BIOS from OS level.

Was the USB you tried booting on FAT32 formatted? I'm not sure if Dell require FreeDOS environment to be able to boot correctly from the USB to update BIOS, if they do you can use a tool like Rufus to put that on the USB: https://rufus.akeo.ie/
