So this week i ordered a new monitor on the internet (2k 144 hz), but since its taking 2 weeks to come by, people on jsp were telling me by just going to a IPS panel i would have seen a huge difference I decided to try and go buy one of these IPS monitor

I went from a asus 20 inch 60 hz tn panel
To a
Asus VC239H 60 hz IPS panel

And... i dont see any difference.
Do I need to activate something somewhere
Or people on jsp were overeacting ?

As a general rule of thumb TN panels are for speed (higher hz and lower response time ms), whereas IPS is for color sensitive work. IPS usually has a lot more depth in terms of color range, compared to TN which is usually more flat and washed out.
The IPS market has caught up though, and more higher hz rated IPS panels are starting to surface. And vice versa, the TN market has started increasing their color range & depth.

Which model exactly was your previous TN monitor?

They are both very similar in specs, but you should be able to see a minor difference. Nothing astronomically different, but rather closer to marginal. You might need to mess around with the on-screen menus to get the correct calibration for your setup.
Another thing to note, IPS panels also have better viewing angles than TN.

Specs for both your monitors, if you wish to compare:

if you play FPS games or any online competitive games, imo get a 144hz monitor, will likely be a TN panel

color reproduction / photo or movie editing / home media, get an IPS

in my experience i have a VG248RQ asus, the 144hz monitor that everyone owns, and i love it

i have also owned a samsung 75hz 24 inch led, to me i dont notice a huge different in color range but im sure there is some

That's why you get high quality ips monitors, such as the ultrasharps
