144 Hz Bug - Topic

Hey Folks,
One of my friends is having an issue in minecraft. Wherein when running it in 144 Hz, he sees odd texture bugs.

The textures become kind of arti-facty and flashy, similar to the bug in starcraft 1 where if you used weird colors in the map editor (sorry for hyper specific ancient reference).

Any idea what kind of settings can be at fault?

Google has not been helpful, so I'm hoping someone here has some insight. Any thoughts/theories are helpful.

Yes - drivers are all set, its a fresh install.

If it' just specific textures, could be corrupted game files.
