Hello kind Souls.
i bought some extra ram today, in hope to play path of exile a tat more comfortable

i currently have 4gb, and bought another 4gb kingston 3ddr ram from a pc store nearby
i told him what graka/motherboard and pc overall i have and askd if its compatible
and he said it sure does something like that
for some reason after installing the new ram, or basicly just putting it in.
my pc workd just fine it seems, but i diddnt had any picture on my montior

so i thought ok letz get another monitor, that i borrowd from a friend.
and same issue there, he said maybe my graka is done, but before i started tinkering around with that
i figured letz remove that newly bought extra ram i just put in, and voila my pc starts like usual working just fine

so my question is where is the problem?
any help would be mutch appreciated since i can only scream at him tomorrow and would feel better going into the shop with some infos at hand
again thanks alot for any kind of feedback even the negative

ps i know my pc sucks :d
and if it matters the ram is used i think only cost me 30 euro
25~ and 5 bucks profit for the owner i think

if u need additonal infos let me know ill try to provide em

Is it the same exact ram that you added?

Some ram/Mobo's dont play nicely with mix-matched ram.

when i bought the pc like 10 years ago, he said to me i could add ram at any time i want to
even have another extra thingy to put one in.

hmm seems my pc cant handle 4gb ram or 8 gb ram
fun fact, the ram i bought from that guy wasnt even either of those, like 1024mb real old shit in a packet of a 4gb ram kingston
anyhow

we tested all kinds of ram he had availble in his store, from several 4gb to 8gb
and none of em workd, most just left us with a black screen
one showd the first sign of life but than ended up in a bluescreen

so back to 2x2 gb ram it was.
figured if i cant get more ram, ill guess i buy a ssd and hope the game runs smoother with that

oh well, now my pc wont see the ssd, tried several ports 2 out of the 2 availble
none of em seem to work.
tough life.

back to the shop it is i guess, worse part i payd 20 bucks just for him testing all kinds of shit
tbh he was rly patience and helpfull so i diddnt mind and he wanted originally 50 euro!

That board supports up to 16gb so either your slot is broken or some other mystery exists.
If your sata port is dying too I would probably not even bother and just find a new board.

hmmm weird
actually had a small issue earlier, i only was able to see single 2 gb ram
after changing out the slots, basicly using the other 2
i managed to get all 4 working.

hmm bout the 16gb, we tried like 3-4 different 4 gb rams and a 8gb ram in that store where i was
and none of em workd, my pc just had blackscreen after starting up basicly

so iam rly confused as to what it is.
anyhow doubt ill be able to afford anything else beside some ram if i get it to work somehow
just to mutch bills atm, ill try to buy 1 big part at a time maybe

guess ill start with a new mainboard

ps: appreciate ur input thx

Check the MSI website for information on your board. Do you have the latest bios installed for the board? Also, if you had the ram chips in slots 1 & 3 for dual channel mode, and it was enabled, then this could have been the issue when trying to install more ram. You would want to turn off the dual channel mode in the bios if you're using different brands / speeds of ram. Usually the company that made the motherboard will have a list of tested brands / speeds of ram that work well with your system. I didn't see any listed on the MSI website for your board. If it's a 10 year old pc, then maybe it's time to update. However, if the problem is just as simple as a bios update, and buying 4x 4gb sitcks of ram for 85 euros, maybe you can get by with this pc for a while. Also, don't go to the shop again! You could be putting that money you spent towards your current system, or building a new pc!
