how much can i expect it to cost for just a single security camera that can see in the dark and light. but i need it to store the footage somewhere that wont be destroyed.

i am considering putting a single security camera inside a room with valuables. but dont know much about security cameras and if the room in which the camera is located is broken into, then the camera can easily be taken as well and loose the footage.

how much would this cost at cheapest? and what are my options?

You can get something like a nest cam or samsung smartcam and utilize cloud storage. Other options include running a line through the ceiling/wall and securing the physical storage in an unreachable area.

We have an Arlo pro and it's been great so far. It has a usb option for storage. The night vision is good too, we can speak and hear through the cam. The only downside is the battery.

I've been looking into this since I had some issues at home... I actually got a great price on a security system from the cable company. The issue was there wasn't any storage. It only took something like 5 15 second clips per day. The other issue was the "hub" thing kept disconnecting all the time. I returned it... I'm hoping to save up to buy a mid priced system from Amazon. Prices seem to have gone down a bit recently. I'm thinking I can get a good one for around $160-$225 that will suit my needs.
