Hello Fellow Jsp'ers

I require assistance once again in choosing hardware. specifically a laptop.


priorities are screen quality/size,s omething with nice aesthetics, a healthy hard drive for my Movie collection, a fast load-time.

Gaming/graphics is always a plus but I'm not a huge gamer of high-spec games so this isn't a big thing.

trade-offs: price and weight/size are irrelevant. this I a desktop replacement power-house I'm looking for. so transportability isn't necessary.

im willing to go up to 2-5k$ on this.

desktop replacement but why not a desktop also considering size and weight


do you really need portability?

I'm curious to know, why are you wanting a laptop if portability isn't necessary? I'm sure you know as well, but desktops tend to be ~25%-50% cheaper for the same specs, run cooler, and are easier to customize.

I do travel a reasonable amount back to Portugal and I'm not 100% sure I will be staying in New York for the foreseeable future. plus I like to bring the laptop to bed and watch a movie and shit like that. so a desktop might be worth considering, and if you guys have any recommendations I'm all ears. I currently have a 30something inch Samsung smart TV, which I intend to use for second screen or main screen depending on whats recommended.

to clarify: portability is nice! I just don't prioritize it. but these two options so far are awesome
