someone tell me the correct way to disable automatic downloads of updates.
shit is driving me insane

My menu looks different, can only defer for 30 days. Want it gone forever

Theres been updates since then that changed menu's.
start > settings > updates > check mark defer box

right click start > system > advanced system settings > hardware tab > device installation settings > select no
or
right click start > system > system info > advanced system settings > hardware tab > device installation settings > select no
changed based on updates again*

lastly google anti spy beacon.
run it > disable everything in second tab also.

that's such a painfully sad string of words.
as if they've surrendered to the idea (fact, is it now? hardware whitelist should still have a thing or two to say) that forced updates are inevitable
and even this won't stop anyone from using the os.

This, while your at it, install McAfee antivirus software, and have quicktime/shockplayer enabled on startup
