Not bad, i do dislike 4k screens on everything below 32". A lot of programs has horrible scaling and windows is not perfect yet either. It also takes another 20%+ battery usage
So i went with a 1080p, 16gb, 512ssd version for 1200$.
I do see the advantages for anyone doing graphical work with 4k.
If I had a budget of 2200$ I would have waited for the Asus UX550. sadly my limit was 1200$ and the UX550 goes from 1400$ ish for the lowest version.
There are better laptops out there if you don't care about portability. But it was one of my main needs. under 2,2kg, under 2,2cm thick with and i7 Quadcore. Preferable with an lowerend pascal dedicated GPU as well.
Yeah, well thankfully I have that 90 day return window. So maybe I will go with another laptop. I don't really need a 4k screen since I don't do any graphic work, and have definitely noticed the 4k scaling thing
Portability is only slightly important to me. It will be plugged in at work all day, and plugged in at my house. I will have a 1 hour train commute every day I will be using it on, so at least some portability. Did you have any others in mind when you said that?
I would definitely say one key thing about the laptop is it needs to look at least somewhat professional, since there is potential I will use it around clients in the future.
