So, I have been tasked to procure laptops for our company salespersons. Currently they have the option to enter sales orders through an app with a company iPad, or connect to a server remotely with an app.

Recently we've had more and more complaints/issues with connectivity, speed etc. So we are considering laptops to replace the iPads. I would like some help in this regard.

Not a single person using this is a power user... I'm impressed they've been able to use iPads for years now :p. So I don't need anything crazy. I have been considering the HP Spectres, I own one and love it, but a little pricey. I've also considered Lenovos, and am also considering Chromebooks.

Are there other suggestions for this that I'm unaware of? Also, I've never used a chrome book, user-friendly is the highest priority here.

Have you tested other devices to ensure it isn't a software/server issue?

It's not even a hardware issue. He's just tired of complaints, and wants to offer them more options. I'm just looking for input on laptops as I don't use them much.

Then only provide him with expensive ones so he can "nope" it off the bat. Ideally, you want to manage fewer types of devices if possible. Avoid the options strategy as it will increase workload on IT. Alternatively, replace every single one.

Check to see if the app u use to connect to the server is compatible with Chromebooks first. Always want to eliminate the cheapest options if possible.

I would also lease your laptops and have a drop ship clause within the contract that states if it breaks, you get a new one in the morning.

Or am I trying to hard? :p
