Ok, so i have a movie file that has the metadata for HDR. It is a 4k movie file.
I am using MPC-HC as the video player, with LAV video and audio filters. As well as madVR.
My GPU is a AMD 270x. I dont think it supports hdpc 2.2, and therefore i dont think it can send the HDR metadata to my TV, which does support HDR. The tv is a ks8000.

So because i dont think my gpu can support sending the HDR metadata to my TV, I am forced to use "convert HDR content to SDR by using pixel shader math" setting in madVR. this makes the colors look pretty good, but its not true HDR. Whenever i use the "passthrough HDR content to the display" it is obvious the HDR content is not being sent properly because everything looks very pale and washed out colors.

Basically, my question is, can i just copy the movie file to a USB stick and should this solve the problem? Can a USB stick directly send the HDR metadata to the TV and allow me to play this movie in true HDR? ive never actually used a USB stick to play anything on a TV before.
