Good evening,

Thank you in advance for your help.

When I turn my computer on, the fans light up and spin, but there is no display. If I turn my computer on, then flip the switch in the back off and on real fast, the computer boots normally. However, when I do this, the keyboard and mouse does not work.

I replaced the motherboard so I have ruled that out. Do you think the power supply is the issue?

Thank you again.

Sounds like it's the PSU.

Just put in my new power supply. I'm now receiving the message , "Generate serial ata driver diskette: Y/N". Both options lead to the system rebooting in an endless loop. I've made sure all cables are plugged in correctly.

Really hoping to avoid that if there's a way. There are things on there that I haven't backed up.

You can do it without deleting files.

Have you tried to boot from usb?

Have you tried disconnecting everything except hdd with OS?

Disconnect keyboard/mouse and reinstall drivers once you have the pc booted up. Just be happy you can get it to boot.

if the PSU is short it can fry your mobo.
Did you recently have a power outtage or was your computer on while you slept and left the house (in case power outage occurred without your presence?)
electrical issues are a bitch and can cause numerous damages, but gl pinpointing and recovering them.
Use your PSU going down as a sympton of a greater problem, try to not summarize it as defective (this is always a rare occurrence.)
