Moving to my new place on Thursday, I need to find a decent modem and router that will work with Comcast. Don't want to get too crazy with the price.

Any good suggestions?

Thanks

Was considering this: https://smile.amazon.com/NETGEAR-340Mbps-Spectrum-Cablevision-CM400-1AZNAS/dp/B0111MRLES/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1494945701&sr=1-1&keywords=netgear%2Bmodem&th=1

Not sure on router. My co-worker wanted to come and set up my network with a switch or something he called it. Said it's really cheap but super effective. He's like an IT guy.

A switch only provides one out of four features you are looking for. You will end up paying more.

Oh well I went with AT&T and they provide a router/modem for free. lol

Comcast customer service drove me away.

Not sure what your mate means about switch. But its only to expand the ethernet connections on LAN.

Get this combo

"Security system he created"

I'd find a new IT friend.

Why? lol

I don't know anything about servers or wiring. The most I can do is build a computer.

Would that be the best for 150 MBPS? I can spend up to like 150 for a decent modem/router.

150mbps is nothing that's like the rated speed of a 10 year old linksys router you'd find at a garage sale
look at the specs on the page for this one
