Apparently it's looking like an as good or better choice than the i5 series depending on what you're looking to do with your PC.

The 7700k beats the R7s in gaming pretty hard.

The R5 is much closer to similarly-priced i5 in gaming performance and is a jillion times better than an i5-6600k if you want to stream or whatever on a budget.

Word is that the R5 is going to be a better recommendation for many people going forward because the difference in gaming performance between the R5 and i5 isn't as bad as it is between the R7 and i7, and you get much more out of an R5 than an i5 if you want to multitask.

where are these multitasking benchmarks? or gaming with streaming benches, honestly atm I dont have time to search/find/etc

yes I have looked a few reviews not seeing anything superb or bad, amd caught up for most part but if you have haswell or newer no point unless you want new stuff
