My last post got super-flooded by an off-topic discussion, so please don't post if you don't want to help! :)

My original question was, and is:
I want to buy a Mac for editing videos. The videos are recorded using my GoPro HERO 5 in up to 4K resolution (usually record in 1080p though). What should I get? I have now narrowed it down to:

Mac mini "level 2". Price ~$700 (in Sweden)
2.6GHz Processor
1TB Storage
2.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
8GB memory
1TB hard drive
Intel Iris Graphics

iMac 21.5", retina 4K. Price ~$1500 (in Sweden)
3.1GHz Processor
1TB Storage
3.1GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor
Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
8GB memory
1TB hard drive
Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200
Retina 4K 4096-by-2304 P3 display

Which one should I choose?

Thanks a lot! :)

if you're editing 4k videos I think you should have ability to see 4k videos :)
how much does a decent 4K monitor cost to go with mini? Or you have one already?

Can you link to exact version you're planning to buy? "1TB storage" sounds like those bullshit SSHD or whatever the hybrids are called. You want a real SSD. How big are 4K videos you're making?

The mini is hardly an upgrade from your 2011 macbook pro.
None ssd and 8gb ram.
These are absolutely lowend PCs hardware wise. Which are aimed for 4k videos...

You're going to want fast storage if your editing 4k, I wouldn't want either of those.

A decent 4K monitor is about $300. I have a 1080p monitor from 2007 though.

When selecting the computer, I have these options (example for iMac):
Quote
Capacity
How much storage is right for you?

1TB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm + $0.00

1TB Fusion Drive + $100.00

2TB Fusion Drive + $300.00

256GB Flash Storage + $200.00

512GB Flash Storage + $400.00
